Month of Beauty + Giveaway: Winner's Choice!
November 30, 2017 • giveaway, health and beauty
What an amazing month! There's no better way to end November than with a bang, so we've got one last amazing SeneGence giveaway for you!
We've talked about how SeneGence is more than just lipstick. We've talked about how all their products last just as long and strong as LipSense. We've discovered that the products are vegan and celiac-friendly. By now we all know that SeneGence is awesome.
So, no more talking about it. Let me show you that my love of this stuff is real:
This is my personal (growing) SeneCollection. 14 lip colors. 8 glosses. 2 Oops removers. 5 ShadowSense. BlushSense. Foundation. Tinted moisturizer. Translucid powder. Lip balm. Not yet pictured is my wish list full of items we haven't even discussed yet like their skin care, liners, and mascaras. I can assure you I wouldn't own this much product if I didn't think it was amazing.

The Best Holiday Party Prep — From Your Laptop!
November 24, 2017 • brands
Guys, I was so proud of myself. I did all my Thanksgiving shopping the weekend before. No crazy last minute crowds for me! While my pumpkin dessert baked in the oven, I started popping corks to blend my cran-apple sangria. What a great Thanksgiving Eve!
I took one last look at the recipe to confirm I'd added everything to the sangria before leaving it to chill, and that's when I saw it. I didn't buy seltzer water. One. freaking. ingredient. Out to the store on Thanksgiving Eve with the unprepared crazies I go.
Next time happens to be when my family comes to visit in a few weeks and more holiday festivities commence. Thankfully, I can host all I want and not fight the crazies in the store for all my household essentials.
Walmart is super affordable, but it's not super close to my home, which is why their website is my go-to for ensuring my place is stocked and ready to host all of my guests this season.

There will be absolutely NO awkward "you're out of toilet paper" moments. |
Noses, hands, and bums will all stay dry and my wallet won't. Win-win! I mean, look how easy this was:
- Visit Walmart's landing page.
- Choose your needed products (I love the Kleenex hand towels when I'm expecting lots of people. No icky wet guest towel!)
- If you're really hardcore, choose the subscription so you never run out!
- Smile because of the extra Ibotta savings you scored!
- Do a happy dance when you realize that 2 day shipping is free (or select free in-store pickup and skip the lines!)
- Relax with your guests knowing your home is well-stocked.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! We are nearing the end of this amazing SeneGence series, but starting this week's discussion and giveaway a day early so y'all can enjoy Thanksgiving tomorrow. If a month of giveaways wasn't cool enough, this week there is a giveaway hop, too, so check out the linky at the end of the post for more fun prizes!
This week, Ashlee is sharing SeneGence's face products with us. Ashlee joined SeneGence because the products were safe for her preteen daughter to use. SeneGence products are actually vegan and celiac-friendly, making them safe for all kinds of people to enjoy.

We all know every great makeup look starts with the face. The right skincare and face coverage go a long way in looking and feeling great. SeneGence offers both, but this week we're chatting about the awesome face cosmetics offered by SeneGence. There's an option for pretty much every preference.
My go-to for daily wear has always been tinted moisturizer. In general, I opt for a natural look with my makeup and tinted moisturizers give me just the right amount of sun protection and sheer coverage to get my face off to the right start each morning. I need the tiniest amount and I'm stunned by how balanced my skin tone looks wearing this compared to other brands.
The colors look crazy different, right? They both adjust amazingly to my face! |
On the days we need a little more coverage. SeneGence has two foundation formulas to offer sun protection and fuller coverage. I've opted for the advanced anti aging formula now that I'm a
30-something, but I've heard equally great things about their original formula foundation.

On one half of my face is the foundation. On the other half is the tinted moisturizer. Can you tell which is which? |
If you want to figure out which product or formula would suit your skin best, a consultant like Ashlee will be happy to consult with you!
Ashlee is wearing translucid powder, Goddess LipSense, Moca Java ShadowSense and Pink Posey BlushSense |
Regardless of which product you like best, the finishing touch to set your look is a must for everyone and I LOVE how convenient SeneGence makes this step with their translucid powder. It's super portable and spares you the mess that comes with normal loose powder containers. I can just toss it in my purse and touch up when needed - just tap and brush to set your look!
This week, Ashlee is giving one winner their own translucid powder. Even better, she's ready to help you with any other beauty needs and is offering 15% off any orders this month (hello, Christmas shopping!) Be sure to watch her group for exclusive deals on Black Friday, too!

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder
November 20, 2017 • theatre
Who: My friend Katherine, her guy Nick, and I
What: A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, the Tony-winning musical comedy
When: January 2017
Where: The Hippodrome Theatre, Baltimore, MD
Why: I knew it was a must-see the moment I saw them perform on the 2014 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Thoughts: As mentioned, the show's performance at the Macy's parade caught my eye and I knew Gentleman's Guide was a show I had to say. The show closed before I could make a trip to New York happened, so I anxiously awaited two seasons for the national tour to make its way to Baltimore. It did not disappoint.
I'll be honest: the music didn't stick with me. Aside from "I've Decided to Marry You," I can't name a single song. No, instead of the music, I remember the laughs. Gentleman's Guide offers a special type of dark, over-the-top humor that probably doesn't suit everyone. But personally, I found the show hilarious and would jump at the chance to experience it again. From the goofy effects to the gorgeous period aesthetics, and the crazy talented casting of one man playing 8 people...this show was a delight!
To hear more Gentleman's Guide, check out the cast recording.

Month of Beauty + Giveaway: LipSense
November 16, 2017 • giveaway
Happy week before Thanksgiving! We all want to look our best for those family photos next week which means now is the time to talk about the SeneGence product that began my obsession: LipSense!
If you haven't heard, LipSense is the long lasting lip color that does exactly what it says. I can put it on when getting ready for work in the morning, and it will still be on when I leave at 5. I've never before worn a lipstick, normal or long-lasting, that hadn't disappeared from my lips within 5 minutes (anyone else constantly rub their lips together? just me?)
This stuff? Pop it on, stay moisturized with some gloss throughout the day...the color stays!
SeneGence has actually been around since the 90s, but the internet caught on to how amazing LipSense is and suddenly there were more sales than ever, causing a bit of a surprise. Some colors had to be discontinued to meet the new, higher demand.
Joanne is keeping it neutral with another re-released favorite: Kiss me, Katie |
But....just in time for the holidays, SeneGence has caught up and brought back several favorite colors! Joanne was kind enough to let me try two of them: Sassy Z and Heartbreaker.
Sassy Z is everyone's perfect pink (another SeneGence consultant declared to me that it is the best color of all time), while Heartbreaker offers some amazing coral vibes. For winter haters like me, it's the perfect way to keep the spirit of summer alive!
Sassy Z |
Of course, the fun thing about LipSense is that you can layer and blend any of the colors for your own custom look. I always carry two or three colors (don't ask how many I actually own) and a gloss in my purse so I can choose or create a look that suits me for the day.
Sassy Z + 1 layer of beige champage = fall vibes |
For the rest of November, Joanne is offering 15% off your order as well as no tax or shipping costs! Just let her know I sent you! She's also giving one winner a LipSense starter kit - a remover, gloss, and winner's choice of color - that's a $55 value! Just enter below:

Month of Beauty + Giveaway: ShadowSense
November 9, 2017 • giveaway
Welcome to our second beautiful week of November!
We are looking at the amazing goodness that is SeneGence, and this week Ashley is sharing what I am considering a must-have for every woman's beauty arsenal: ShadowSense!
I don't know about you, but I hate it when my eyeshadow creases then fades during the day or somehow sheds its way down to under my eyes making those bags look even more pronounced. No thanks!
The idea of ShadowSense originally made me nervous as it's a creme formula, but I needn't have worried: the stuff really is like LipSense for your eyes: it stays put all. day. long! Just apply, blend, and forget about it for the rest of the day-none of those pesky aforementioned shadow woes!
I like a more natural look so I chose to try two colors that are great for every day wear: mocha java shimmer and candlelight:
I love that I can wear either of them alone or still layer like other shadows for a different look. What's even more impressive is how many uses there are for this stuff. I couldn't believe this video Ashley shared with me:
Speaking of Ashley, I can't complete this post without discussing how freaking generous she is. Aside from this week's amazing giveaway, here's some other offers open to anyone right now:

Month of Beauty + Giveaway: Blush and Balm
November 2, 2017 • giveaway
Happy November!
I know what you're thinking. Fall. Apples. Pumpkins. Thanksgiving. Holiday Shopping.
I'm an early bird when it comes to the latter and I have teamed up with 5 amazing ladies to help you check some people (or yourself) off your gift list.
Meet Robin. She's a dog lover, reader, and a hard-working SeneGence representative.
Maybe you haven't heard of SeneGence, but I bet you've heard of LipSense. I discovered the amazingness for myself over the summer and my personal collection of lippies has since become downright embarrassing.
I've since discovered that there is so much more to SeneGence than their amazing lip color. All throughout November, we'll check out some amazing beauty products starting with 2 B's this week: blush and balm!
I know, I know....all this talk of long lasting lip color and now I want to talk about lip balm? It sounds like a step backwards, but I assure you, it is not. The key to the best LipSense application is healthy, hydrated lips, so prepping with a great, moisturizing balm like this one is a must!
Robin is a die hard fan of the balm for good reason: after suffering allergic reactions from other balms, she found that SeneGence's lip balm soothed everything and prompted no reaction. As rich and luxurious as this stuff feels, I can totally believe it! I love wearing it to bed at night so my lips are ready for a fresh color application in the morning!
BlushSense, like LipSense, is a stay-put all day formula where a little bit goes a long way. Really! The tube makes it super convenient for travel, and application couldn't be quicker: dot the tiniest bit onto your cheeks, blend, and go! Robin sent me the color terra cotta, a beautiful peachy shade, and I love it! While it looks quite dark in the swatch, you can blend it as light or as dark as you like.
On to the good stuff....giveaways! This is one post of five. Every single week this month, you have a chance to win a different SeneGence beauty product, so be sure to come back! This week, Robin is giving one winner a lip balm and choice of one BlushSense color. Enter below and be sure to come back next Thursday for another spotlight and giveaway!
